I’ve been reading and listening to the podcasts that you like to listen to. In one of the episodes, they talked about marriage. It opened my mind up about what marriage is and how it should be. You asked me about why I want to get married and what for. I’ve only realized how naive my answer sounded. Love. Ha.
I now understand what you want: to be your ideal, best version of yourself. Our relationship should be helping us bring out the best version of ourselves. You’ve been saying this all along, and I couldn’t believe I’ve missed this this whole time. Maybe a part of me probably felt safe and comfortable with the current version of myself and was afraid of bringing out the authentic version of what I desire to be deep down. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to do this for you.
I really like the analogy they used in the talk. They said the sculpting process is not about creating something new. But rather the sculptor’s job is to refine, polish, and scrape away the rough edges of the rock to reveal the true beauty inside. I want to be the sculptor that can break away your current mold and reveal the best version of yourself that’s been wanting to break free. I want to reveal the shine, happiness, and confidence you see in when looking into the Mirror of Erised.
