Dawn

Lost in a vast night desert.
Grew comfortable with my shelter.

I gazed into the night sky
and found a mysterious, twinkling star.

I followed its guiding light towards true north
and reached a new, unfamiliar Earth.

The star descended upon me, giving me love and warmth.
It turned my night slowly into dawn.

I can see light for the first time.
I can see myself for the first time.
I can feel love for the first time.
All so foreign to me. All so uncomfortable for me.

I turned around to look closer at the star,
But it ascended back to a distant part of the universe.

I want to peer through this star’s brightness
To understand the source of its love and warmth.
